A Great Essential Oil Recipe!

We're enjoying experimenting with essential oils! I'd like to share a recipe that we especially love. Yes, I've shared it on the blog before, but it's so good that I want to tell you about it again!

For my daughter's painful, swollen knee, we added 5 drops of peppermint oil and 5 drops of lavender oil to 1 tsp. of sweet almond oil. Her joint pain and swelling were reduced dramatically in just a few days.

Recently, a friend used the oils on a particularly painful joint that had not responded to other treatments tried. Not only was the joint sore, but the surrounding muscles ached from the extra work of compensating for the painful joint. After applying the oils for just a few days, her pain was relieved in the joint as well as in the surrounding muscles.
Try it for yourself!

Essential Oils for Tendinitis

Tendinitis is the inflammation, irritation, and swelling of a tendon, which is the fibrous structure that joins muscle to bone. The swelling is uncomfortable which causes pain when the joint is moved. When the joint is a knee, walking is difficult.

The age-old acronym, RICE, helps us remember how to treat it: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation.
I'd like to modify the acronym just a bit--RICE-EO!

We recently mixed some essential oils to apply to a swollen knee and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the swelling was reduced.

Here's our recipe:
Add 5 drops of peppermint essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil to 1 teaspoon of sweet almond essential oil. Apply to the swollen area.
