Tea Tree Oil

http://smithfamilyresources.com/t/essentialoils

Beeyoutiful's Tea Tree Oil is 100% pure, steam-distilled from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, and it provides generous amounts of terpinen--the active ingredient responsible for the oil’s amazing antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal abilities.

Replace your first aid spray and anti-bacterial ointments with tea tree oil for cuts, scrapes, infections, irritated hair follicles, blisters, boils—even acne. It’s safe for use on broken skin and can be used without diluting. A drop or two is all you need to disinfect and heal.

On minor burns and sunburn, add tea tree oil to Vitamin E oil or aloe vera gel for soothing relief. This combination makes a refreshing aftershave, too, and, unlike most store-bought lotions, it has no dangerous chemicals to soak into your skin.

Instead of toxic wart remover, apply tea tree oil regularly onto both plantar and seed warts. Since warts are caused by a virus, tea tree oil's anti-viral characteristics go to work, dissolving most warts within a few weeks.

If you shower in a dorm, campground, or other public facility, consider spritzing your feet and freshly shaved legs with a mixture of water and a few drops of tea tree oil to prevent warts. And be sure to treat your razor with tea tree oil before shaving.

Treat jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm with anti-fungal tea tree oil. Unsightly nail fungus responds well to tea tree oil, too. Apply undiluted, or for ease of spreading, add it to a small amount of olive oil or aloe gel.

To reduce bronchial distress, mix a few drops of tea tree oil with olive oil and spread liberally on the chest and throat. You can also produce a steam inhalation treatment by mixing tea tree oil in a bowl of 6 to 8 cups of boiling water, covering your head and the bowl with a towel, and breathing deeply (eyes closed) for 10 minutes. Tea tree oil can also be diffused in a vaporizer or aroma lamp to open airways and disinfect the sickroom.

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of borax.  Mix in a spray bottle (12 oz.) with warm water for a safe, refreshing disinfectant.

Does your dishwasher have an unpleasant smell? Add a couple of drops of TTO to the soap dispenser along with the soap. And a few drops in your garbage disposer will freshen it up, too.

Safety Information: Can be used neat, however it's best to do a patch test first. Limit usage to the problem area, and avoid the surrounding skin. Do not massage directly on or below a varicose vein.

Essential Oils: Therapeutic Grade?

Are Beeyoutiful's Essential Oils therapeutic grade?

I was recently asked this question, and I answered incorrectly.  I wanted my customer to know that the oils we sell are of the highest quality, and that they are not simply fragrance oils.  I had heard the term "therapeutic grade" and knew that it implied the highest quality, and I mistakenly answered affirmatively.  Please forgive me!

Here's the correct annswer:  Beeyoutiful's Essential Oils ARE of the highest quality.  The oils are 100% pure, unadulterated, uncontaminated, and undiluted. Every batch is sample-tested to make sure that it is so, before bottling, during bottling, and after bottling. In addition, tests are done to make sure that the oils meet a certain standard of active components. The oils are tested for purity by gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, or both. The testing method is listed on each bottle.

And this part of the answer may surprise you:  There is no such thing as "therapeutic grade."

The term "therapeutic grade" was coined by a particular multi-level marketing provider of essential oils.  But there is no formally approved grading standard used consistently throughout the essential oil industry.  There is no standards committee.  There are no independent certifying agencies.  Terms like "therapeutic grade" and "medicinal grade" are simply marketing.  While they may have meaning as defined by the company using the terms, they should not be taken to mean that oils with that label are actually superior to other oils not claiming such a grade.

The next time I'm asked this question, I'll be better prepared.  I will say that Beeyoutiful's oils are of the highest quality and are used for therapies, for medicines and for aromatherapy.  They are not called "therapeutic grade" or "medicinal grade" or even "aromatherapy grade," because there is no such thing, except in marketing.

I Bought Five...

Well, here they are! My five cleaning supplies plus the recommended bonus items.

I already had the Borax.

I bought the Washing Soda at Publix.
I bought a big box at Publix.

Publix again!

I bought the Castile Soap at Organic Harvest.  The Liquid Soap was $15.99, comparable to the Amazon price.  The Bar Soap was $4.29.  I could have saved a little by ordering the bar soap from Moms Aware for $3.50 (free shipping), but I was eager to have it in hand.

I already had these Beeyoutiful Essential Oils on hand.  Andrea recommends Tea Tree Oil for its medicinal properties.  I've chosen Lemon and Lavender for good-smelling cleaning!  These and other oils are available from Smith Family Resources.  Click here for more information.

All total, I spent about $30.  I could have spent less if I hadn't been in such a hurry!

I'd love to hear about your shopping.  Please tell us if you're able to find any good deals on any of these products!

Beginner Basics Essential Oil Pack

from www.beeyoutiful.com:

Beeyoutiful's Beginner Basics Essential Oil package is a great way to get started using essential oils, or to add to the collection of an experienced user.

Eucalyptus is one of our favorite all around essential oils because of it's incredible diversity. It is the greatest value of our essential oils and comes in a 4oz container. Many of our Beeyoutiful families run it in a diffuser on a daily basis as it kills dust mites and also can neutralize many airborne illnesses during cold and flu season.

Orange Essential Oil is almost fool-proof to use and its delightful citrus scent invokes feelings of warmth and cleanliness. Some of our Beeyoutiful staff families use Orange essential Oil in the kitchen in the place of orange flavorings, potpourri mixes and home cleaning mixtures.

Lemon Essential Oil has an invigorating and clean smell that makes it a favorite among all purely for its uplifting scent. In addition to the wonderful scent there is a whole host of ailments and maladies it has been used historically to treat. It is another favorite in our Beeyoutiful homes in cleaners and diffusers.

Tea Tree Essential Oil has been called, for good reason, the "first aid kit" of essential oils. It has proven its usefulness in a myriad of ways since our Beeyoutiful Staff families have begun using it. It is well known for its antiseptic and germicidal properties. For the big benefits it delivers, it is still very user-friendly and is a valuable addition to this package.

Lavender Essential Oil is quite possibly the most popular of all essential oils. Its calming and soothing scent makes it the best of all of the essential oils for aromatherapy purposes. It is also one of the few essential oils that can be applied "neat" which simply means that it does not have to be diluted before using it on the skin.

The Beeyoutiful Beginner Basics Essential Oil Pack is available from Beeyoutiful.com.
