SMICA XC at the Monkey C Monkey Run

The Cross Country team of Shades Mountain Independent Church Academy participated in the Monkey C Monkey Run 5K this past Saturday,

September 8, 2012, in Homewood, AL.

The Team placed 2nd overall, finishing only seconds behind the winning team.

SMICA XC

This fall, our girls ran on the SMICA XC Team, otherwise known as the Cross-Country team of our homeschool association, Shades Mountain Independendent Church Academy. XC was a great experience for our whole family. Last night, we went to the end-of-the-season dinner and enjoyed some great fellowship, good food, and fun pictures and videos. Every student athlete received a special award, and it was a very encouraging evening.

We're thankful for Coach Ande and Mrs. Paula Underwood for their work with the team this year and for the very special evening they planned for everyone last night. Coach Ande prepared a video capturing some of the highlights of the season. Thanks again, Ande and Paula!
